Dave Righetti was a left-handed pitcher for various Major League Baseball teams, most notably the New York Yankees. He was the first player in history to pitch both a no-hitter and also lead the league in saves. The bulk of Righetti's career was spent with New York, where he was the 1981 Rookie of the Year and helped the Yankees reach the World Series. After several years as a starter, he became the team's closer, and in 1986 set a then-league record of 46 saves.
